  1. The Fault in Our Stars

Overall I thought The Fault in Our Stars was a good movie. How do you feel about it? Is it too much drama? Well, I don’t think so, I think it is a good chick flick and all the drama keeps it interesting.

The movie was made after the book written by John Green and the movie was directed by Josh Boone. In the movie, Hazel Grace Lancaster is played by Shailene Woodly and Agustus Waters is played by Ansel Elgort. They really hit it off from the beginning.

The Movie is about a girl named Hazel Grace who falls in love with Agustus Waters. They meet at a cancer support group, and it starts from there. They hang out and exchange books. Agustus was curious about the ending of the book Hazel chooses, so he emails the author and tells Hazel to do so. They get a response and go to meet him. Throughout the movie there are some sad scenes where their cancer comes in.

The movie is realistic. The movie has some scenes that are realistic, like when Hazel got really sick and had to go to the hospital. I like that because it is not a fantasy, it is reality. The movie has scenarios that some people are really facing.
The movie is well made. The actors and actresses are really good, especially Shailene Woodly and Ansel Elgort. The movie also had a good balance between romance and drama. I also liked the humor thrown in throughout the movie. I really enjoyed how Agustus always made a joke.

The Fault in Our Stars has similarities to the movie My Sisters Keeper. In both of the movies they deal with cancer and problems from their cancer. The big difference between the two movies is the relationship between the main characters. The Fault in Our Stars is based round two teenagers that fall in love that have cancer, and My Sisters Keeper is about a girl that has to take care of her sister who has cancer.

The one thing that I did not like about the movie was the ending. I did not like how it ended on such a sad note, how Agustus dies at the end. I also felt that the movie ending was kind of sudden.

Overall I liked the movie and I think it was well writen, and acted, and just an all-around good movie. I would have liked a less sad and sudden ending; however, that didn’t ruin the movie for me. I definitely liked the movie, and I would definitely watch it again.

  2. The Fault in Our Stars Movie Review

What are your thoughts on “The Fault in Our Stars” movie? Have you watched it? Do you like it? Well, I personally think it is an amazing movie that captures the attention of adults, as well as teenagers. “The Fault in Our Stars” is a great family friendly movie that is extremely realistic and expresses a romantic yet tragic story.

The actors in this movie couldn’t have been better. They show so much expression, and do a great job representing the romantic part of the movie as well as the gloomy part. “The Fault in Our Stars” is a lovey-dovey story. Two cancer patients fall in love, Hazel Lancaster (actress) and Augustus Waters (actor). The emotion in this story is unreal. When Hazel gets a dreaded phone call, she didn’t take it well, there was crying, screaming, and I actually cried! The movie really captured the viewer’s attention. I felt the pain that Hazel was feeling. The actors in “The Fault in Our Stars” are extraordinary.

As for the movie being realistic, there are two characters who are suffering from cancer in this movie, Hazel and Augustus. Unfortunately, Cancer is well known for taking the lives of many people. Hazel and Augustus meet during a support group. Augustus has suffered through cancer, but he is there to support his friend Isaac, who is blind. They then start talking and soon fall in love, making many memories together. At the end of the movie, Augustus’ cancer returns. Hazel obviously takes it really hard, just like the millions of people in the world who have lost a loved one, due to cancer. “The Fault in Our Stars” is an extremely relatable story.

The movie itself is one of the best romance movies I have ever seen. It is a great sad, love story. The plot is awesome, and I love the way the movie flows through Hazel and Augustus meeting, falling in love, and traveling to Amsterdam. One thing I really loved about the movie is the quotes. Such as “Okay? Okay.” or “I’m on a rollercoaster that only goes up.” They really have a strong meaning to them. The movie itself is spectacular.

“The Fault in Our Stars” was directed by Josh Boone and was based on the novel written by John Green. The film stars Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff, Laura Dern, and Sam Trammell. This movie has won ten awards. Including the teen choice award for choice movie: drama, young Hollywood award for best onscreen chemistry, and teen choice award for choice movie scene stealer.

Overall, “The Fault in Our Stars” is a great family friendly movie. It is realistic, relatable, and just an all-around wonderful movie. The movie’s genre is romance, and it truly represents love. I would recommend this movie to anyone. It is loved by people of all ages. Young kids, teenagers, and adults. Therefore, in my eyes, I absolutely love “The Fault in Our Stars.” You should watch it!

  3. The Fault in Our Stars Movie Review
Don’t forget to bring your tissues! This heart touching love story will definitely bring tears to your eyes. It’s about two teenager’s named Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters (aka Gus) who both have cancer and fall in love. After this wonderful book was written by John Green, they decided to make it a movie.

The Fault in Our Stars was directed by Josh Boone and screen written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. This “drama” movie is PG-13 and does have a scene which is inappropriate for younger children and the emotions in it are very hard to handle and comprehend. But, I would definitely recommend this movie if you are a teenager or an adult. This two hour and six minute movie is full of heart breaking scenes which will definitely make you feel grateful for the life you have after watching it.

The movie kicks off with Hazel Grace (Shailene Woodley) and her mom (Laura Dern) having a serious talk. Hazel’s mom encourages her to go to a support group and make friends. That day, at the support group, she meets Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort). Hazel learns that Augustus was in *remission from *Osteosarcoma cancer that caused him to lose a leg.

After that day at the support group, Hazel and Gus started to see each other more often. They found that they both had a lot of the same interests such as a love for books. Soon after that they fell in love. Many things tried to stop their relationship; Hazel’s father (Sam Trammell), multiple trips to the hospital, but nothing breaks these two lovebirds apart.

For moviegoers who enjoy this kind of drama, The Fault in Our Stars definitely wins first place over other movies like If I Stay. Personally, I think The Fault in Our Stars goes into a lot more depth about Hazel and Gus’s relationship. In If I Stay, the whole time while Mia is in her “out-body-experience” she can’t even focus on whether she wants to live and be with her family, friends, and boyfriend, Adam, or die. Who wouldn't choose to live, it’s a no-brainer!

Though some people say If I Stay is a love story like The Fault in Our Stars, it’s not. The Fault in Ours Stars has a lot more one on one just with Hazel and Gus. Half the time during If I Stay, Mia and Adam aren't even together, sometimes Adam doesn't even know that Mia is there!

In The Fault in Our Stars, it shows you the life of an average teenager struggling in their life trying to find happiness. It’s even harder to find that happiness when you have cancer. Hazel Grace happens to fall under this category. In the movie it kind of shows you what cancer patients have to live with and go through. In the movie Hazel makes multiple support group, doctor, and emergency room visits.

Before she meets Gus she’s very depressed and unhappy. Hazel thinks why should I even try and do things to be happy when I know I am so limited. Well when she meets Gus her perspective on life changes. Gus helps her see through all the bad in both of their lives and helps her realize that there are good things in life waiting for the both of them.

All the actors in the film really do a great job of bringing this real life scenario visible. The movie and actors all together have won ten awards. Seven Teen Choice Awards and three Young Hollywood Awards. They definitely deserved all these awards. This film will not disappoint and is sure to change you for the better.
*remission—disappearance of the signs and symptoms of cancer or other disease
*Osteosarcoma Cancer—a malignant tumor of the bone.
