Kingdom Hearts Series

  1. You’ve probably done something that has earned you the title “Heartless”. Clearly, they haven’t met a real one. Kingdom Hearts is a series of video games about Sora, a boy from Destiny Islands, along with companions he makes as the game progresses, to defeat two forces: the Heartless, who wish to shroud all in eternal darkness, and the Nobodies, who are attempting to unlock Kingdom Hearts, a realm lost to time in an event known as the Keyblade Wars.

Most people would probably start out talking about how great the story is, for a positive review. I unfortunately cannot be one of these people. It’s not that it has a bad storyline, it all makes sense, but it also doesn’t. Kingdom Hearts is pulling a Legend Of Zelda where it’s releasing certain games that chronologically would go before an already released game. I feel bad for those who have tried to put either of these game series in proper order, as it is near impossible.

Everybody loves Disney. Well, most people. Kingdom Hearts’ story takes place in the settings of Disney movies, such as Agrabah or Notre Dame. Not to mention that most main bosses in the game are the antagonists in the movies, like Jafar, Ursula or Hades. Some other bosses in the games in places like the Coliseum and Twilight Town are very powerful Heartless instead of a main Disney character. Any Disney fanatic and gamer would consider this a must-have.

The music in these games are very well done. KH has an orchestra, band, and choir who create the songs added into the games. Some of the emotions you feel when watching cutscenes are more likely to be from the music rather than the actual thing that’s happening. I would say that most modern dubstep songs or themes commonly found in the more recently released games could not compare.

Though the games have violence, there is no bloodshed and little to no foul language, so it’s great for all ages. I also recommend this game series to any and all Disney fans. Overall, this series receives a nine out of ten from me, nine mainly because the story is so out of place.
