Maverik Boost

  1. The Maverik Boost lacrosse shaft is one of Maverik’s lightest shafts on the market making it perfect for any position. The boost has the best strength to weight ratio of any of the Maverik shafts. In my opinion it is one of the best shafts on the market and can compete with other high competitors such as the Krypto-Pro Diamond by Warrior and the Stallion Sci-ti OCS by STX.

First, one of the many reasons this shaft is amazing is the weight to strength ratio is outstanding. The shaft only weighs (weigh shaft at home), which is much less than the Stallion Sci-ti OCS, but can take many hits and takes a lot of force to break. This is because the shaft is made of Forza alloy, an aluminum aircraft blend, the same type used in jets. This makes the shaft incredibly light while still maintaining incredible strength.

Next, the concave shape of the shaft as seen in the picture above makes the shaft amazing. The concave indents helps you feel the shaft in your hand as you’re cradling or shooting, this is because the sharp edges make contact with key points in your hand helping you cradle the shaft. This paired with tactile grip that runs up 65% of the shaft provides an amazing all weather grip that is far superior to the Kyrpto-Pro diamonds diamond grip.

Lastly, the shaft is very inexpensive compared to other top-notch shafts. The Maverik Boost is only $120 which is a steal compared to the Stallion Sci-ti OCS which is $180, and the Krypto-Pro Diamond which is $150. Also the defender shafts which are twice as long are $200 which is the same with the Krypto-Pro Diamond, but less than the Sci-ti Pro which is $230. But the shaft is even less for the holidays at anywhere from $40 to $80 for the defender shafts.

Now this shaft has it’s upsides but it also has some downsides. First the grip wears off, this happens on most shafts with grip, but slightly faster with the boost. Second, there is no version without grip for people who like a slicker feel. Lastly the Boost can fit on most heads but has difficulty with a significant amount.

In conclusion, the Maverik Boost is an amazing shaft and I highly recommend it. Being Maverik’s best strength to weight ratio and having a superior feel in your hand have made this my favorite shaft for over 4 years now, and I still don’t have any dents in it, and for only $60 with the holiday sales you absolutely can’t go wrong.
