  1. What does Forza mean? Strength in Italian!
(A review on Forza Motorsport 4)

Forza Motorsport 4. For almost 4 (no reference intended) years it has been at the top of the Xbox racing world. Ever since being released on October 11th, 2011 by Turn 10 Studios, it has gripped players and getting their adrenaline pumping in intense races to up their world rank. From over 500 cars, ranging from compacts to F1 cars, and many of the best racing tracks from around the globe, Forza 4 has endless ways to experience the best racing game on Xbox 360.

You start out with a class F car of your choice (car classes go from F (everyday street compact cars) to A (supercars) to S (exotic supercars) to R3 (supercars modified for racing) to R1 (F1 cars)), and race up the grid in seasons with the difficulty and rewards rising as class rises. You earn money in seasons to either buy, upgrade, decorate, and race in cars that are able to hold its own against the “world’s best.”

If you want a break from the intensity of seasons, you can relax, practice, or just mess around in a quick race with cars that you have unlocked. All the tracks and cars that have been unlocked are available. Race in quick, 3-5 lap races to either calm down from seasons, or race in a car that you do not yet have on season play. You can also check out the Auto vista, where you can explore, view, get into, and drive supercars in challenges to unlock them in single-player quick races.

And, if you are tired of seasons but still want the class A excitement and entertainment, there is an online option. Yes, you can play with random people, or friends, and decide ONCE AND FOR ALL who is the best driver on the circuit.

The NASCAR and F1 games can’t compete even remotely with Forza, and while its PlayStation rival Gran Turismo 5 is also a great game that I’ve played, Forza 4 is slightly better overall than GT5. It outdoes Forza on car variety and engine realism, but only slightly, and though Forza only slightly outdoes GT5 on graphic quality, it outdoes GT5 on overall realism by a small bit, WAY outdoes GT5 on car customization (if you’re into that,) and is about on par with track variety, CPU intelligence, and overall customization. Overall, Forza 4 might be the best racing game on ANY platform (not even going to try to settle the argument with Mario Kart or Gran Turismo 6, and Forza 5 was well rushed to meet the Xbox One launch, so it’s out of the question.)

So, If you’re a racing fan, a gaming fan, and/or are just looking for a great game you can play forever, get Forza Motorsport 4, the most exciting, addicting, and user friendly racing game there is.
