Clash of Clans

  1. Clash of Clans Review
There are many games for mobile devices that are out there today. Many of these games are very addictive. One game that clearly stands out as one of the elite games is Clash of Clans. Clash of Clans is a MMO (massive multiplayer online) strategy game made in 2012 by a company called Supercell based in Finland. This game has been very popular ever since it came out. It has been on the top charts for nearly the entire time the game has existed. I got Clash of Clans when it first came out and I have loved it from the start.
In Clash of Clans, you own a village, and you are the leader. This takes place in the past when there were no guns and there is not gore on the game. The center of your village is your town hall, and you must defend it. To do this you most build defenses, walls, storages and resource collectors, and other essentials to protect yourself from other players. Your goal in the game is to build your base up, attack other players, make alliances, and strive to become the best village in the game. Constantly repairing, upgrading, building new structures, redesigning your village, and attacking other people, this game never leaves you with nothing to do.
When attacking, you can train a variety of troops like barbarians, archers, goblins, giants, wizards, dragons, golems, and witches, (yes there is a difference between wizards and witches) you can train your unique army to conquer other players. I personally use wizards in a lot of my army compositions because the pack a major punch. Each unit has its strengths and weaknesses so you have to train other troops to account for them. For example, giants have a lot of health but move slow and attack slow, so they are ideal for meat shields (protect your weaker troops by distracting defenses and staying alive for a while). Archers attack at a range and move fast but are weak, so they are ideal to send in after giants. Dragons can fly, so cannons and mortars can’t attack them, but air defenses take them out quickly. With so many advantages and drawbacks, you have to be strategic to win battles.
Another strategy is spells. There are lightning spells, heal spells, rage spells, jump spells, and freeze spells. They can alter your fate in battles. Lightning spells can take out key defenses and buildings, heal spells make your troops live longer, rage spells give your troops more speed and attack power, jump spells allow your troops to jump over walls, and freeze spells disable defenses. By using certain spells, you can attack like never before and is an important part of attacking.
The wow factor in Clash of Clans is joining clans. When you join a clan you have the opportunity to fight alongside your friends in a clan war (requires 10 members or more). You can also help your friends by donating troops, share your awesome attacks through replays, watch your friends’ attacks, or just chat. When saving up or waiting for an upgrading building, you may get very bored. Clan activities fix this boredom so you can keep playing. To be honest, I have never been bored once with Clash of Clans.

  2. I have played many other games on my mobile device, but none have lived up to the hype. They either make you rage and play for two months and then die of (that’s you, Flappy Bird), or you beat the game to fast and get bored (that’s you, Battle Cats), or you buy everything in the game and you get bored, (that’s you, Jetpack Joyride), or the game makes you pay too much to keep playing, (that’s you, Candy Crush). Clash of Clans is different. You never max out the game, unless you have no life or buy way too many gems, the game is free so you don’t spend that much money, you cannot beat the game, clans never leave you bored, and this game has been popular for two years coming up on three.
I have spent many days eating, playing Clash of Clans, and then going to bed, because Clash of Clans is non-stop exciting. With so many ways to play, unique bases and attack designs, upgrades, decisions, clans, and leaderboards, I always have something to do. I would give this game five stars, but there are only three stars in Clash of Clans so I give it three stars out of three (you would get that joke if you played the game). If you will excuse me now, I must attack in clan war or I will get kicked from my clan. I’m getting town hall level 8 this weekend so I must get as much gold, elixir, and dark elixir as possible.
