FOUR by One Direction On November 17, 2014, One Direction released their new album FOUR causing many teenage girls to “fangirl” over these boys. These five boys from the UK started on “The X Factor” coming in at 3rd place. Leaving X Factor, Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall, and Zayn were only getting a taste of what would come to them. Four years later they became #1 in 37 countries, 3 successful worldwide tours, and their new album FOUR is #1 in 146 countries. One reason why this album has been such a success is because of their loving fandom. These girls have dedicated their life to these boys and anything they do is supported by millions of teen girls across the world. They are considered the deadliest of fandoms. As soon as you insult one of these 5 boys, the fandom comes after you like cheetah chasing a gazelle. Their albums have progressed over the years but this one is the best yet. They’ve mixed in rock n’ roll with slow ballads and even some indie songs like, “Fireproof”. One Direction has proved that they are no longer part of the boy band stereotype that N’sync and the Backstreet Boys have produced. When One Direction released “Fireproof” the fans thought they knew what was coming their way. Then, they released “Steal My Girl” which gave off an R&B vibe and then the fans went insane. Every track on this album tells a story whether it’s about getting old and living in the moment or talking about loving someone since you were 18, you can relate to this album in some way. I think that this album is better than most albums today is because all ages can enjoy it and it has many different genres in one album. I really enjoyed this album because it shows that they are just young boys having fun doing what they love. I recommend this album for any mood that you’re in because it is that good. One Direction’s album FOUR is like no other because they are the only boy band to top charts in 146 countries with this album. Even the Beatles have never experienced such success. It is unheard of for anyone to become this successful in just 4 years. One Direction have shown that they are maturing and so is their music. It shows that their music just keeps getting better and better. I honestly hope that this won’t be the end of One Direction’s amazing music.
