Do you like food? Pretty much everybody says yes to this question, because nobody can live without food. Let’s be a little more specific. Do you like meat? Yes? Ok well lets be even more specific. Do you like steak, chicken, lamb, duck, or bacon? Come on everyone likes bacon. If you said yes to any of these past questions, then Fogo de Chao is the place for you.

Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian Steakhouse restaurant. In Maryland, there are two locations. One is in Baltimore and the other is in Washington D.C. This place is the Mona Lisa or Super Bowl of steakhouses. It is the best of the best. They have virtually every type of steak and chicken ever known to mankind. When you sit down at your table there is a card. One side of the card is green and the other side of the card is red. A server will come to your table, take your drink order, and explain the process to you. When your card has the green side up, servers will come to your table with large sticks of different types of meat, and they will ask you if you want that type of meat. If you do want that type of meat, they will cut a piece off for you and put it on your plate. They have everything from filet mignon to bacon wrapped chicken. Once you flip your card to red, the servers will stop asking you if you want the meat. The food tastes great. The chefs prepare the meat perfectly. The food is amazing and they have a wide variety of desserts also. The desserts are outstanding and the whole thing is a great and unique experience.

A good restaurant is not only about food though. Fogo de Chao also has fantastic service. The waiters and waitresses are all very polite, and all of them are very good at communicating with other people. Within five minutes of arriving at the restaurant, you will be seated no matter how large your party is. The server will lead you to your table and pull the chair out from the table for you to sit. When you sit down, there is already water for everyone before you order whatever else you want to drink. The service at your table is also very quick. When you are ready to eat and you flip your card to green, it is less than one minute and a half before the servers are at your table asking if you want a certain type of meat. You can time it if you do not believe me. They also explain to you what kind of meat they are serving. Instead of just saying the fancy name of the meat, they explain to you what kind of meat it is and what part of the animal it is from if you would like to know. Besides the table service, they also have valet parking when you arrive. Overall the service would get a ten out of ten from me.

The organization of the restaurant is very good too. The inside is very organized and easy to navigate. There is an easy access salad bar in the middle of the dining area. It is easy to find and easy to get to. The walkways in the restaurant are very open also. The tables are far apart from each other, but not so far apart that it looks awkward. The restaurant is very large and open on the inside. The entire restaurant is also very clean. The floors are very clean and the bathrooms are some of the cleanest restaurant bathrooms I have ever seen. Even the waiting area is nice. Inside the restaurant the temperature is a good medium. It is not too hot and not too cold. From the outside it is easy to find the restaurant. It is right along the road, and there is a giant sign out in front of the restaurant. The only negative is that it is a little expensive. However, in my opinion it is worth it.

The food is outstanding, the service is amazing, and the whole process is very organized and unique. The experience is different, but it is fantastic. It is great for families, couples, or if you just want to treat yourself to a nice dinner. Overall it is a great restaurant, and you should try it.
